FG Declares May 1st A Public Holiday In Celebration Of Workers’ Day

             

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, May 1, as a public holiday to celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government. In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister emphasized the importance of peace in driving industrialization and economic growth.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo praised workers for their hard work and dedication, noting that their efforts have played a key role in Nigeria’s progress and global standing. “There is dignity in labour; the dedication and commitment to the work we do are essential to nation-building,” he said, urging workers to embrace a culture of innovation and productivity.

The Minister encouraged workers to continue improving their skills, thereby contributing to better governance and ensuring that all Nigerians benefit from the nation’s resources. He also reassured citizens that the government is committed to the security and well-being of all individuals in the country.

In closing, Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended his best wishes to workers for a joyful celebration and encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful, as the administration of President Bola Tinubu is fully dedicated to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
