On-Air Personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, better known as Do2dtun, has called out reality star Whitemoney over his “tribal remarks” at the 17th Headies Awards held in Lagos on Sunday, April 27.
While accepting the Afrobeats Single of the Year award on behalf of artist Flavour, Whitemoney stated, “Now this award is for my brother Flavour. We didn’t plan this, he’s not around but on behalf of all the Igbos, I say ‘Ayagaya igidigi’.”
Do2dtun found Whitemoney’s comment inappropriate and took to his X account to voice his displeasure. He emphasized that the award should be a celebration for all Afrobeats fans, regardless of tribe. “‘On behalf of the Igbos!’ I’m sorry, that was completely unnecessary. It didn’t need that kind of narrative. It’s an award won by an African, for Afrobeat, and a Nigerian. #headies2025”
