U.S. President Donald Trump has announced he plans to buy a Tesla in a show of support for Elon Musk, CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX. This move comes after Tesla faced boycotts and a significant drop in stock value due to protests against Musk’s collaboration with the White House.
Trump defended Musk against what he called “Radical Left Lunatics” who are trying to damage Tesla through protests and boycotts. He praised Musk’s efforts, calling him a “great American” working to improve the nation.
Trump shared his intentions on Truth Social, stating, “I’m going to buy a brand-new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk.” He also questioned why Musk should be punished for using his talents to “Make America Great Again.”
Tesla’s stock has suffered a significant decline, dropping over 28% in the past month and almost 32% since the start of the year. Protests against Musk have occurred at Tesla dealerships nationwide, including a vandalized location in Colorado and protests at a Manhattan showroom. Some Tesla owners have even altered their car logos to avoid anti-Musk vandalism.
