Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has revealed a cherished nightly ritual she shares with her husband, Prince Harry. In a recent interview with People, following the premiere of her Netflix show With Love, the 43-year-old shared that every evening, she and Prince Harry, 40, engage in a routine called “nightcap recaps.”
During this time, the couple enjoys a drink together, reflects on their day, and prepares lunchboxes for their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three. Markle described it as part of the familiar rhythm all parents with young kids experience.
After their evening routine, the couple often unwinds with their favorite TV shows. “We love Shrinking. We just finished Black Doves, and we’re excited for the new season of The White Lotus,” she said.
Throughout her Netflix series, Markle has offered glimpses into her family life in Montecito. In one episode, while making a rainbow fruit salad for a children’s garden party, she spoke about the importance of being a “present parent.”
“It’s a real delight being able to be a present parent. It’s a luxury sometimes because we all have to work and juggle many things. But when you can take a moment to find the fun in those small moments, it really sets a sweet tone for the weekend,” she shared.
Markle also emphasized that celebrations don’t have to be elaborate to be meaningful. “It’s how you incorporate these practices every day,” she said, finishing the fruit salad with yogurt and flower sprinkles.
