Speaking to reporters on Friday, March 14, Slot confirmed that England international Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss the final but remains hopeful he will return before the end of the season.

“Trent is not available. He will not be at the final,” Slot stated. “He is still being assessed to determine how long he will be out, but we do expect him back before the season ends.”

Due to the injury, Alexander-Arnold has been excluded from England’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, as confirmed by manager Thomas Tuchel on Friday.

Despite his absence, defending champions Liverpool are focused on securing their first trophy under Slot’s management. The Reds are also in strong contention for a record-tying 20th English league title, holding a commanding 15-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
