A 32-year-old laborer, Kevin Roberts, has been sentenced to one month in prison for assaulting his wife in Guyana.
Roberts, a resident of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, was charged with assaulting his wife, Annalisa Francis, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Queenstown.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force on Sunday, March 16, the charge was filed under Section 21 of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02.
The case was heard on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court, before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke. After the charge was read, Roberts pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one month of imprisonment.
