On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump shared details of his phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing it as “very good and productive.” The discussion, focused on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, led to an agreement on an immediate ceasefire involving all energy and infrastructure.
Trump confirmed in a post on Truth Social that both leaders had agreed to work swiftly toward a complete ceasefire to end “this very horrible war.” He also emphasized, “This war would never have started if I were President!”
During the conversation, Trump mentioned that key points of a “Contract for Peace” were discussed, including the tragic loss of thousands of soldiers and the shared desire of both President Putin and President Zelenskyy to see the conflict come to an end. Trump expressed optimism that the peace process is now in full motion, stating, “We will, hopefully, for the sake of humanity, get the job done!”
