Tinubu Mourns With Katsina Governor Over Mother’s Death

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to Dr. Dikko Radda, the Governor of Katsina State, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Baribari, who passed away at the age of 93 on Saturday night.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the late matriarch as a selfless woman who played a key role in shaping generations of leaders across various sectors.

“The President notes that Hajiya Safara’u’s legacy of integrity and community service has had a far-reaching impact,” the statement read. Tinubu also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant her Jannatul Firdaus and to comfort her family during their time of loss.

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, confirmed the death in a statement on Sunday. He also shared that Hajiya Safara’u’s children include the current Village Head of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umar-Radda, and Hajiya Hauwa Umar-Radda, the former wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

A respected Fulani matriarch, Hajiya Safara’u leaves behind a lasting legacy of integrity, perseverance, and community service that continues to inspire all who knew her.
