The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has announced that fasting will continue on Sunday as the moon has not been sighted, signaling the end of Ramadan.
The NSCIA, in a statement signed by Secretary-General Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, urged Muslims to look for the crescent of Shawwal on the 29th of Ramadan. If the crescent is sighted, the Sultan will declare Sunday, March 30, 2025, as the first day of Shawwal and the day of Eid al-Fitr.
