Arsenal delayed Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes with a dominant 4–0 win over 10-man Ipswich on Sunday. Meanwhile, Chelsea staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Fulham 2–1, moving into the Champions League qualification spots, while Manchester United slipped to a 1–0 home defeat to Wolves following their midweek Europa League heroics.
Arsenal on Fire, Liverpool’s Title Wait Continues
Liverpool needed an Arsenal loss and a win over Leicester later in the day to clinch a record-equaling 20th league title. But Arsenal, fresh from their Champions League triumph over Real Madrid, kept up the pressure with a clinical display at Portman Road.
Leandro Trossard opened the scoring early, and Gabriel Martinelli added a second moments later. Ipswich’s hopes were crushed when Leif Davis was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Bukayo Saka. Though Saka avoided serious injury, he was later substituted as a precaution.
Trossard grabbed his second after the break, and Ethan Nwaneri capped the win with a deflected effort. The result leaves Ipswich on the brink of relegation, 15 points from safety with just five games left and a poor goal difference.
Chelsea Leaves It Late Against Fulham
At Craven Cottage, Chelsea revived their Champions League hopes with two late goals after trailing for most of the match. Alex Iwobi gave Fulham the lead in the 20th minute after a strong run by Ryan Sessegnon.
But 19-year-old Tyrique George equalized with a long-range strike in the 83rd minute, and Pedro Neto sealed the win in stoppage time with a sensational finish, lifting Chelsea into fifth place—just ahead of Nottingham Forest on goal difference.
Man United Fall Flat After Europa Win
Still riding high from their dramatic Europa League win over Lyon, Manchester United struggled at home, suffering a lackluster 1–0 loss to Wolves. A much-rotated United squad created little in attack, and Pablo Sarabia’s stunning free-kick in the 77th minute proved decisive.
It was United’s eighth home defeat of the season, dropping them to 14th place, level on points with Wolves, who now sit 15th after their fifth straight league win.
