Obasanjo reveals real reason Nigeria cannot make progress

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has cautioned that Nigeria will continue to struggle with progress as long as it remains a graveyard for unimplemented policies.
Obasanjo expressed concern that the nation seems to be making one step forward and three steps back due to a lack of effective leadership in policy execution.
Speaking at an event in Abuja yesterday, he emphasized that Nigeria possesses numerous policies aimed at fostering greatness, but it is the leaders who are responsible for the country’s stagnation.
Obasanjo stated, “Having policies or making statements is not sufficient for leaders. We have an abundance of policies in Nigeria.
“Sadly, Nigeria has turned into a graveyard for policies that are either not implemented or executed.
“Those who achieve progress do so not merely by wishing for it, but by taking decisive actions. They do not move two steps forward and then three steps back.
“Unfortunately, this is the pattern we are following in every facet of our national life. As long as we continue in this manner, progress will remain out of reach.”
