An early morning fire on Monday engulfed the market at Trademore Estate, located off the Umar Musa Yar’Adua Airport Road in Abuja, News360 Nigeria reports
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but residents suspect it may have been triggered by an electrical fault. Joe, a resident, stated that he was alerted to the incident around 4 a.m., describing the situation as tense.
Efforts to contact the Federal Fire Service and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service were initially unsuccessful.
However, residents were able to alert the fire service at Dunamis Church, which responded around 5 a.m.
Joe later confirmed that firefighters from the EFCC and Sauka stations successfully extinguished the blaze two hours after it started.
