Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods, achieved a major milestone during the final round of the PNC Championship, sinking his first-ever hole-in-one on the par-three fourth hole. The incredible shot briefly put the father-son duo in the lead at the family-focused tournament, which features major champions competing alongside their loved ones.
Despite their strong performance, Team Woods was edged out in a play-off by Bernhard and Jason Langer, who secured their second consecutive victory and fourth overall at the Orlando event.
“It was awesome,” Charlie said after the round. “No one made a mistake today, so that was some of the most fun I’ve ever had. On top of that, I made an ace. I don’t think I can top that.”
This was Tiger Woods’ first competitive event since undergoing back surgery in September. Although he admitted he’s “nowhere near competitive shape,” the 15-time major winner cherished the experience of playing alongside his son.
“It’s all about the joy of being out here with family, bonding, and just enjoying each other’s company,” said Woods, 48.
Interestingly, Charlie wasn’t the only young player to hit a hole-in-one that day. Paddy Harrington, 21, son of three-time major champion Padraig Harrington, aced the eighth hole, marking another highlight in an unforgettable tournament.
