“Anyone in the opposition who believes they are more influential than Peter Obi at the moment is simply deluding themselves,” Reno Omokri

Despite being a frequent critic of Peter Obi, Reno praised the former Labour Party presidential candidate, calling him the leading opposition figure in Nigeria.

Reno wrote:

“Peter Obi is undeniably the Number One opposition figure in Nigeria right now—no exceptions.

“Anyone in any opposition party who thinks they are bigger than Obi at this point is just deluded.

“While I recognize his flaws, I must admit that I admire Obi’s resilience in the face of challenges.

“There are individuals in opposition parties who have already been rendered irrelevant by Obi, though they may not realize it yet, as their wealth sustains their political relevance.

“However, for Obi to truly go further, he needs to be less Igbo-centric, encourage his Obidient supporters to engage in persuasive rather than aggressive rhetoric, and own up to—then apologize for—his ‘Yes Daddy’ and ‘religious war’ comments, which alienated the Muslim Ummah. These are his greatest weaknesses, and until they’re addressed, he’ll struggle to cross certain political boundaries.”
