Soldiers Feared Dead, Several Injured After Suspected Drunk Driver Rams Into Military Personnel in Lagos

An unconfirmed number of soldiers from the Myoung Barracks in Yaba, Lagos State, are feared dead, and others injured, after a suspected drunk driver crashed into them during their morning physical training. The incident, which occurred early on Friday, has caused widespread panic within the military community.

A soldier, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the chaotic scene: “There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.” The soldier further revealed that the vehicle involved in the crash was driven by three young men, believed to be internet fraudsters, also known as ‘Yahoo Boys.’

The vehicle slammed into the soldiers near the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp, resulting in one of the car’s occupants fleeing the scene, while the other two were caught, beaten severely, and their vehicle was vandalized.
