Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as nothing more than a coalition of incompatible allies.
Speaking at a press conference at his Ikoyi residence, George condemned what he called the “recent invasion of the PDP secretariat by thugs.”
“As the largest party in Africa, PDP must not be turned into an ‘Agbero’ party by any member with selfish ambitions. Our party is governed by rules and regulations,” he stated.
He urged party leaders to take decisive action against those working against the PDP, emphasizing that it remains the only true national party. “APC is just a gathering of strange bedfellows. This is the time to show the door to those undermining our party—no room for sentiment,” he added.
George also decried the violent disruption of the party’s 79th Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting, calling it sacrilegious. “If thugs could be hired to attack a BoT meeting, imagine what their sponsors might attempt during National Working Committee (NWC) or National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings,” he warned.
