Barcelona Women’s incredible home dominance came to an end on Saturday as they fell 2-1 to Levante, marking their first league defeat at home in five years.
The reigning Spanish and European champions had not lost a home league match since February 2019, when they were beaten by Huesca. Despite this rare setback, Barcelona still holds a commanding eight-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid in the Liga F standings.
This is only their second loss in all competitions this season, with their previous defeat occurring in October against Manchester City in the Champions League (2-0).
While the loss to Levante is an unexpected stumble, Barcelona’s consistent dominance over the years ensures they remain favorites to reclaim the title.
