Heartbreak struck the University of Ilorin as a 200-level Mass Communication student tragically ended his life at his residence in the Oke-Odo area of Tanke, Ilorin.
The student, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly ingested a poisonous substance last week while his roommate was away at lectures. A suicide note found at the scene revealed his battle with financial struggles, which he described as unbearable.
A close friend, speaking anonymously, confirmed the discovery: “We returned to find a suicide note where he explained his struggles and decision to take the substance.”
The deceased, known for his academic brilliance with a CGPA of 4.5, was reportedly being sponsored by his widowed mother, a retired schoolteacher.
