Trial of IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu Adjourned Indefinitely

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), indefinitely. Kanu is facing terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

The trial was stalled after Justice Nyako recused herself from the case on September 24, 2024, following Kanu’s request for her withdrawal, citing a lack of confidence in her ability to ensure a fair trial. In response, she returned the case file to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, John Tsoho.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Tsoho returned the case file to Justice Nyako, instructing her to continue with the trial. With the latest adjournment, Kanu’s legal battle remains uncertain as proceedings are put on hold until further notice.
