The Edo State Police Command has announced the arrest of Kelvin Izekor for allegedly killing his wife, Success Izekor.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, the police said the incident occurred on Saturday in the Upper Mission Extension area of Benin City.
According to Yamu, officers from the Aduwawa Division arrived at the scene to find the woman’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood with a head injury. The suspect was being attacked by an irate mob when police intervened.
“It took significant effort to pacify the mob, rescue the suspect, and take him into
custody for investigation,” Yamu stated.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where specialists confirmed her death.
The police have launched a full investigation into the case, assuring that anyone found guilty will be prosecuted according to the law.
