Troops from the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven have successfully neutralized two kidnappers and rescued a woman and her daughter in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State. The operation occurred on February 23 at around 8:30 p.m. after intelligence was received about the abduction of the victims.
Upon receiving the information, troops quickly mobilized and engaged the kidnappers on the outskirts of Gindiri Town. In the ensuing gunfight, two kidnappers were neutralized, and a third was captured with fatal injuries. The woman and her daughter were rescued unharmed and taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (Gindiri Branch) for medical attention before being reunited with their family.
In the wake of the operation, troops have ramped up patrols in the area to bolster security and restore public confidence.
