UK Prime Minister Arrives In Washington Ahead Of Ukraine, Defense Talk

United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer has arrived at the White House in Washington, D.C., for discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump on defense and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

His visit follows recent U.S.-Russia talks in Turkey, with Russian President Vladimir Putin expressing hope for potential common ground. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to meet Trump on Friday, where he is expected to sign a “very big agreement” on minerals.

Trump is reportedly pleased with Starmer’s pledge to increase UK defense spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2027, up from 2.3%. However, key points of contention remain as the leaders navigate complex geopolitical challenges.
