Russia’s Foreign Ministry has condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s visit to Washington on February 28, labeling it a “political and diplomatic failure.” The ministry criticized Zelenskiy for his approach during his meeting with US President Donald Trump, which reportedly led to tensions between Kyiv and Washington, a key military ally for Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Zelenskiy of being “obsessed with continuing to wage war” and described his behavior at the White House as “outrageously boorish.” She further claimed that Zelenskiy’s main objective was to maintain power, at any cost, including destroying political opposition and sending millions of citizens to their deaths. Zakharova also noted that Zelenskiy openly challenged Trump’s softer stance towards Russian President Vladimir Putin during the meeting.
