Arsenal is reportedly targeting Napoli’s on-loan forward, Victor Osimhen, with plans to make a £65m offer for the Nigerian striker in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Italian outlet Tuttojuve.
The North London club is said to be ready to trigger Osimhen’s release clause by submitting a €75m (£61m) bid to secure the forward, who has contributed 27 goals and assists (22 goals, 5 assists) across all competitions this season. Osimhen recently added two more goals to his tally in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa, including a penalty.
Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has also reported that Arsenal is set to swoop in and steal the move for Osimhen from Manchester United, who have been linked with the forward.
The Gunners are actively looking for a new centre-forward this summer, following injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray, the Turkish League champions, and is expected to leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this summer, with just one year remaining on his contract.
