Pope Francis Has No Plans to Resign Amid Health Concerns, Friend Confirms

                                                                                                        Pope Francis won

Pope Francis has no intention of resigning from his papacy, despite recent health issues that led to hospitalization. This assurance came from Elisabetta Pique, an Argentine journalist and close friend of the 88-year-old Pontiff. The Pope, who has suffered from two episodes of respiratory failure, remains committed to his role, contrary to speculation that cardinals have been discussing a potential successor.

This follows news that Cardinal Angelo De Donatis has been designated to replace the Pope for Ash Wednesday services, marking the start of Lent in Rome. On Monday, the Vatican revealed that Pope Francis had been placed on ventilation again after experiencing respiratory crises caused by mucus accumulation. Despite this, the Pope remains alert and cooperative with medical staff.

Pope Francis was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli hospital on February 14 for bronchitis, which later developed into pneumonia, leading to global concern.
