Fubara Donates Helicopter to Nigerian Air Force for Security Operations
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has donated a helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to enhance national security, aerial surveillance, and emergency response while boosting crude oil production.
At the handover ceremony at the 115 Special Operations Group in Obio/Akpor, Fubara emphasized his administration’s commitment to protecting national assets and improving security. He explained that the helicopter, previously used for commercial purposes, had been grounded due to a dispute but was now being repurposed for security operations.
The governor stressed that the donation was purely a show of support for national security, with no hidden agreements. He also highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts to support federal security initiatives, including runway resurfacing and housing projects for the Air Force.
Receiving the helicopter, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, praised the gesture, noting that the AW139 helicopter would enhance tactical airlift, search and rescue missions, and disaster relief operations.
May God bless him
