Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently opened up about a life-threatening health struggle he experienced during an evangelism program at his church seven years ago. Adeboye recalled collapsing in Ilesha and how the situation worsened due to the poor road conditions.
Sharing his testimony during a service, he revealed that for the first time, he spent Christmas in bed because of the health crisis. He explained that after collapsing, he had to be airlifted to the camp for the program. However, some individuals tried to stop the helicopter from taking off, which resulted in one of the helicopter’s windows being damaged.
He shared, “Seven years ago, during this same program, my body completely broke down because of the terrible roads. For the first time, I spent Christmas Day in bed. The devil thought he had finally got me. I collapsed in Ilesha, and because I was too weak to travel by road, we had to charter a helicopter. If I had traveled by road, I wouldn’t have made it.”
Reflecting on his survival, Adeboye expressed gratitude, saying, “Seven years later, I am still here! Thank God for sparing my life.” He urged the congregation to join him in thanking God for his recovery.
