The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin shows no interest in peace, especially after Russia launched a devastating attack on Ukrainian cities over the weekend. Kallas emphasized that the ongoing “relentless” drone and missile strikes by Russia indicate that Putin has no intentions of seeking peace, even as discussions about ending the war continue.

She also stressed the need for increased military support for Ukraine, saying, “We must step up our military support. Otherwise, even more Ukrainian civilians will pay the highest price.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is working to strengthen ties with U.S. President Donald Trump after their tense White House meeting last month. Zelenskyy has expressed his willingness to sign a favorable minerals deal with the U.S., as Ukraine continues to suffer from the recent U.S. decision to halt intelligence sharing and freeze weapons supplies.

This week, North Korean and Russian troops reportedly broke through Ukraine’s defenses in the Kursk region of Russia, where Ukrainian forces had held a strategic position for seven months.
