The Lagos State Police have launched a manhunt for the unidentified boyfriend of Adija, a graduate of Lagos State University, after her lifeless body was discovered in his apartment in the Meiran area on February 26.
An Instagram user, @Eyeopener, shared the details of the incident, stating that Adija’s family began searching for her after they were unable to reach her on the phone. She had informed them that she was visiting her boyfriend. Concerned, her family went to his apartment, only to find the door locked. After several failed attempts to gain entry, they forcibly opened the door and found Adija’s body lying on the bed.
The couple had been dating since Adija’s early years at university, and their relationship was reportedly toxic. She often stayed at her boyfriend’s place during the week, returning to her parents’ home in Ketu only on weekends. On the evening of February 26, Adija had received a call from him and went to visit. The next morning, her phone was unanswered, prompting her family to check on her.
Upon arrival, they were horrified to find her lifeless body covered with a duvet. CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that a manhunt is underway for the suspect, with authorities committed to bringing him to justice.
