AC Milan returned to winning ways on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Venezia, following their recent loss to Atalanta. No matches were held on Friday or Saturday due to the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome.
Christian Pulisic gave Milan an early lead in the 5th minute, while Santiago Gimenez sealed the win with a goal in stoppage time.
Fresh off their midweek Italian Cup semi-final win against rivals Inter, Milan remain in 9th place in Serie A with 54 points. Venezia, meanwhile, stay in the relegation zone, sitting third from bottom—one point behind Lecce, who play Atalanta later in the day.
Elsewhere, Brazilian forward Gabriel Strefezza scored the lone goal as Como defeated Genoa 1-0 in a match that saw former Arsenal stars Cesc Fabregas and Patrick Vieira face off as managers.
Later on Sunday, league leaders Inter host seventh-placed Roma, while second-placed Napoli take on Torino at home.
