Al-Nassr manager, Stefano Pioli, is reportedly on the verge of leaving the club due to a strained relationship with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Pioli took over as manager in September 2024 after Luis Castro’s dismissal.
Currently, Al-Nassr is third in the Saudi Pro League, trailing leaders Al-Ittihad by 10 points, with only two wins from their last five matches. According to SportItalia, Pioli’s departure is imminent due to his difficult relationship with Ronaldo.
Should Pioli be dismissed, Roma is reportedly prepared to offer him a position, with current manager Claudio Ranieri expected to leave at the end of the season. Pioli, who guided AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2022, is seen as a potential candidate to lead the Giallorossi.
The tension between Pioli and Ronaldo reportedly began after the manager substituted Ronaldo during Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al Kholood two weeks ago. Despite Ronaldo scoring early and the team holding a comfortable 3-0 lead, Pioli decided to pull the Portuguese forward, surprising both Ronaldo and fans.
