Ify Okoye, wife of music executive Jude Okoye, has posted a family photo on her Instagram story, one hour ago, amidst her husband’s ongoing legal issues.
Jude Okoye, the elder brother and former manager of the music duo P-Square, was recently arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged fraud. He faces charges of laundering N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59, alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd.
The charges were brought before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court, Lagos, on Wednesday, where Okoye pleaded “not guilty” to all counts. His case, which includes a seven-count charge, saw the prosecution request his remand in a correctional facility pending trial.
The defendant’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, requested a short date for a bail hearing, while the prosecution, represented by Larry Peters Aso, objected to keeping Okoye in EFCC custody due to overcrowding. Justice Owoeye adjourned the case for bail hearing on February 28 and scheduled the trial for April 14. Okoye was ordered to be remanded in the Ikoyi correctional facility in the meantime
