Anambra 2025: Moghalu Passes LP Screening, Set For Primaries On April 5

The two Labour Party aspirants for the Anambra governorship election, Chief George Moghalu and Sir John Nwosu, have been screened and confirmed for the party’s primaries set for April 5.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Obiora Ifoh, made the announcement in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the screening committee, led by George Ozodinobi, the Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, screened the two aspirants on Friday. The results were then submitted to the party leadership.

Ozodinobi commended both aspirants for their loyalty to the party and their impressive track records. He emphasized that the party would ensure a fair and transparent selection process, assuring both aspirants that the election would be conducted with unity and respect.

“We are committed to a transparent process and want to ensure that we emerge as a united house, ready to campaign and win the November governorship election for the good of Anambra,” Ozodinobi said.

Moghalu, an experienced administrator and business executive, previously served as the National Secretary of the All-Nigeria People’s Party, National Auditor of the All-Progressives Congress, and Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority. Nwosu, an IT expert and global entrepreneur, was also a director in the 2023 ObiDatti Presidential Campaign Council.
