Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has established a new state security supervisory committee aimed at addressing insecurity in the state.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, shared the news in a press statement on Wednesday. Opara described the move as a decisive action and a clear reflection of Soludo’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Anambra residents.
The committee, which includes representatives from various government agencies, traditional rulers, and local government leaders, will be responsible for monitoring and regulating the activities of the Agunechemba units, among other duties.
Opara emphasized that this collective approach is a welcome development, acknowledging that combating crime and unrest requires a multifaceted solution. He highlighted Governor Soludo’s focus on innovative security strategies, which has been well received by Anambra residents, who feel a sense of relief.
The committee’s role in encouraging cooperation between government bodies and the community is seen as essential in creating a safer environment for all. This initiative follows the recent unveiling of the Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025 and the launch of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, a special security operation designed to strengthen the state’s security system.
Opara noted that these efforts demonstrate the governor’s determination to tackle insecurity and restore peace to the state. He also pointed out that the new security forces, deployed after the launch of Udo Ga-Achi, are already showing promising results.
With these initiatives, there is growing optimism that Anambra will soon be one of the safest states in Nigeria, free from the challenges of insecurity.
May God bless him
