At Least 14 Lost Their Lives In U.S Flooding

At least 14 people, including a child, have died due to severe flooding caused by heavy rainfall across parts of the United States.

Twelve fatalities were reported in Kentucky, while Georgia and West Virginia each confirmed one death.

“I’ve got more tough news,” Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said on X on Monday. “The death toll in Kentucky has now risen to 12. We must remember, this isn’t just a number—these are Kentuckians who will be missed by their families and loved ones.”

The death toll in Kentucky had risen from eight on Sunday, including a 7-year-old child.

In Georgia, one person was reported dead, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Meanwhile, West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey confirmed one fatality in his state and noted that several people remain missing amid “significant levels of flooding.”
