Suspected bandits have killed the Katsina State Acting Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Amadu Surajo at Mai Rana village, Kusada Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the bandits who attacked the village on Saturday night, January 4, 2025 also killed three people and injured several others.
The gunmen also kidnapped Surajo’s two wives, along with one of his daughters, who is an undergraduate in one of the public universities in the country.
However, a source familiar with the incident who spoke on the condition of anonymity said Surajo’s first wife was later released by the bandits.
The Katsina State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident to the punch on Sunday.
“The DPO informed me that the incident happened last night,” the PPRO said.
The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Nasir Mu’azu, also confirmed the killing of Surajo.
“Yes, he was killed yesterday by the bandits,” Mu’azu said.
The remains of Surajo and other deceased persons are expected to be buried later on Sunday morning according to Islamic rites, while the injured have been receiving treatment.
