Bayern Munich fielded Raphaël Guerreiro in a No10 role, stepping in for the injured Jamal Musiala. The Portuguese player combined effectively with Michael Olise and Harry Kane, creating early pressure on Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Olise set up Kane with a clever pass inside the box, but the striker’s curling shot hit the post, narrowly missing the target.
Inter Milan initially struggled to threaten, but Lautaro Martínez turned the tide with an electrifying finish. A smooth move from Inter saw Marcus Thuram’s deft touch find Martínez, who scored with a stunning first-time strike using the outside of his boot—his sixth goal in four Champions League matches.
Despite Bayern’s relentless efforts after halftime, including a near-miss from Martínez, Sommer and 21-year-old deputy Jonas Urbig were resolute in goal. Late in the game, substitute Thomas Müller appeared to rescue Bayern with his 244th club goal, tapping in to level the score with just five minutes left.
However, Inter had the final say. A lightning-fast counterattack down the left allowed Carlos Augusto to deliver a precise cross, and Davide Frattesi slammed home a close-range winner. With this victory, Inter became the first team to defeat Bayern at home since April 2021, securing a crucial advantage ahead of the second leg.
