Dangote Cement has clinched the platinum award at the second edition of the Corporate Reporting Award for its outstanding 2023 financial disclosures. MTN Nigeria earned the gold award, while Seplat Energy was named runner-up.
The award ceremony, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and NGX Regulation Limited, took place on Tuesday at the Nigerian Exchange.
The event celebrates transparency and excellence in corporate reporting among companies listed on the NGX.

ICAN President, Davidson Alaribe, emphasized the importance of transparency, saying it boosts public trust and attracts investors. “No investor wants to put money in a secretive company,” he said, urging businesses to prioritize accountability and sustainability.
NGX RegCo CEO, Olufemi Shobanjo, added that corporate reporting goes beyond compliance, calling it a “vital practice that builds trust and strengthens the capital market.”
A panel of five assessors, led by Associate Professor Yinka Moses from Victoria University of Wellington, reviewed the entries. Assessor Grace Fatogbe noted clear improvements in the 2023 reports, crediting both regulatory efforts and growing awareness among Nigerian companies about meeting global standards.
