Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared that he and his wife, Chioma, are putting plans for more children on hold to focus on family balance and Chioma’s growing business ambitions.
Speaking on a recent episode of Ride Along With Darryl, which began trending on Saturday, the father of five said expanding their family is not a priority at the moment.
“I don’t want more children now. My wife and I are taking a break. She wants to get back to work—open her restaurant, launch her spice line. After having three kids, I feel she deserves a couple of years to focus on herself,” Davido said.
He added that Chioma is currently spending more time abroad as she prepares to kick off her ventures, starting with a line of spices.
“She’s mostly here now, so I think she’ll open something here first. But the main focus is the spices—getting them into major stores globally, both in Africa and the diaspora. Her food tastes amazing,” he said.
Davido and Chioma welcomed twins—a boy and a girl—in 2023, a year after the tragic loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, who died in 2022 in a drowning accident.
