Eid-El-Fitr: NSCDC Deploys 1,800 Officers For Security In Kogi

In preparation for a smooth and secure Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,800 personnel across Kogi State. This deployment was announced by the Kogi State NSCDC Public Relations Officer, DSC Abdullahi Aliyu, in a statement issued on Saturday in Lokoja.

Aliyu explained that the deployment was approved by the Kogi State NSCDC Commandant, Esther Akinlade, in line with the directive from the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, to ensure a peaceful Eid al-Fitr celebration throughout the country.

The State Commandant emphasized the importance of proper security coordination by Area Commanders and instructed Divisional Officers to mobilize personnel effectively across their areas. Additionally, all component Commanders and Special Forces have been deployed to strengthen security and protect critical national assets and infrastructure.

Aliyu quoted the Kogi NSCDC Commandant, stating, “Our commitment to ensuring peace, safety, and protection of lives and critical assets, in collaboration with other security agencies, must be supported by everyone’s efforts. I have directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to carry out their duties responsibly.”

The statement also revealed that the Kogi NSCDC has tasked all formations within the state to work with community stakeholders to gather reliable intelligence and carry out comprehensive surveillance before, during, and after the festivities, to prevent any criminal activities.

The deployment will focus on high-risk areas such as prayer grounds, worship centers, recreational facilities, motor parks, markets, shopping complexes, and critical infrastructure to ensure a safe and successful celebration.

The Commandant extended her Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world, wishing them a peaceful celebration and praying for a more peaceful Nigeria.
