FG To Open New Rehab Camp For Bandits AND Terrorists.

The Federal Government has announced that the second Operation SAFE CORRIDOR Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) Camp will soon open in the North-West region to encourage low-risk terrorists and bandits to surrender. The first centre, located at Mallam Sidi in Gombe State, has already helped in rehabilitating ex-combatants. Major-General Adamu Garba Laka, National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), shared this update during a visit by a delegation from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. Laka emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in counter-terrorism, as countries share resources, information, and expertise. He also noted that nearly 3,000 individuals have graduated from the program, which aims to rehabilitate and reintegrate former terrorists into society.Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, stated that his administration would not negotiate with terrorists but would be open to reintegrating any who voluntarily surrender, renounce violence, and choose to become law-abiding citizens.
