Five Charged Over Death of One Direction Star Liam Payne in Argentina

Five individuals have been formally charged in connection with the tragic death of One Direction star Liam Payne, who passed away in Argentina earlier this year.

According to Argentinian news outlet Infobae, a judge has charged five people, with two of them currently in custody. Among those implicated is Payne’s friend Rogelio “Roger” Nores, who reportedly left the singer at the CasaSur Palermo hotel approximately an hour before his fatal fall. Nores has been charged with negligent homicide.

Braian Paiz, a waiter who admitted to using drugs, including cocaine, with Payne, has been charged with supplying narcotics for payment. Ezequiel Pereyra, a former employee of the hotel, faces similar charges.

Meanwhile, CasaSur Palermo hotel managers Gilda Martín and Esteban Grassi have been charged with manslaughter. All five defendants have been summoned to appear in court as the investigation continues.

Payne, 31, died on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires. Police launched an extensive investigation following his death, with initial reports suggesting Payne may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time.

A 911 call on the day of the incident described Payne as acting aggressively. Grassi, the hotel’s chief receptionist, claimed that Payne repeatedly called the front desk, demanding alcohol and cocaine, and allegedly insulted staff when his requests were denied.

Authorities also uncovered text messages allegedly exchanged between Payne and an escort, in which he offered her $5,000 to “party.” Additionally, reports indicate that a psychiatrist had warned Nores about the risks of Payne mixing antidepressants with alcohol, describing continued mental health support for him as “impossible.”

Both Paiz and Pereyra, who allegedly supplied the drugs, invoked their right to remain silent during an earlier hearing. If convicted, they could face up to 15 years in prison for supplying narcotics for payment.

The investigation continues as fans and loved ones mourn the loss of the former One Direction member.

  1. So sad for Payne, arresting and convicting individual’s supplying drugs involving to Payne death, hv no benefits to Payne any longer, and considering it a lesson for others, the points is who cares? when many of the law advocates are drug’s addict.
