A former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, is dead.
Eriksson’s family confirmed his death on Monday in a terse statement.
“Sven-Goran Eriksson has passed away,” the statement read.
“After a long illness, SGE died during the morning at home surrounded by family.”
The 76-year-old had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
At the beginning of 2024, the Swede revealed he only had a year to live “at best”.
Sadly, he passed on this morning even before one year elapse.
During his career, Eriksson managed top European clubs like Benfica, Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Lazio.
