Former Manchester United goalkeeper Jack Butland, now playing for Rangers, was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after suffering from a serious internal bleed.
The 31-year-old England international, who was set to feature in the highly anticipated Old Firm derby against Celtic on Thursday, has been ruled out of the match.
Reports from the Rangers Review (via Mirror) confirm that Butland spent Tuesday night under medical care but was discharged on Wednesday morning. While recovering at home, he remains unavailable for Rangers’ crucial clash at Ibrox.
A graduate of Birmingham City’s academy, Butland joined Rangers in 2023 from Crystal Palace following a loan spell with Manchester United. Since then, he has become a key figure at the club, making 87 appearances across all competitions and helping secure the Scottish League Cup last season.
