Suspected bandits have abducted four students near the Federal University, Dutsinma, Katsina State, in an early morning attack on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. at Paris Quarters, behind the university, where the assailants, reportedly in large numbers, stormed the area and whisked away the victims. The kidnapped students have been identified as Wali Kayode (25), Fahad Muhammad (20), Emmanuel (surname unknown), and another yet-to-be-identified individual.
Security operatives were mobilized to the scene following a distress call, but the kidnappers had already fled with the students. Authorities have launched efforts to track down the perpetrators and secure the victims’ release.
The attack has heightened fear among students and residents, as banditry remains a significant security challenge in Katsina State. Meanwhile, the police command has stated that it is investigating the incident.
