Gov. Eno Secures Free Tickets For Super Eagles’ World Cup Qualifier Against Zimbabwe

The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced free tickets for the Super Eagles’ crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

In a statement on Monday, the state’s Commissioner for Sports, Paul Bassey, revealed that Governor Umo Eno purchased all 30,000 tickets to ensure maximum support for the national team.

“In line with his commitment to mobilizing support for the Super Eagles’ victory against Zimbabwe, Governor Umo Eno has secured 30,000 tickets for fans ahead of Tuesday’s match,” Bassey said.

The free tickets will be available at designated distribution centers, including all radio stations, De Venus Bar and Restaurant on Stadium Road, Uyo Township Stadium, Ibom Plaza, and previous ticket sales outlets. Fans are urged to collect their tickets in advance, as none will be available at the stadium on match day.

Additionally, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced plans to distribute Super Eagles jerseys to the first 500 fans who collect tickets.

NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, called on Nigerians to fill the stadium and create an electrifying atmosphere, stating, “When we played Rwanda in Kigali, the Amahoro Stadium was packed. We urge our people to come out in full force to cheer the Eagles.”

The Super Eagles, currently fourth in their qualifying group with six points from five matches, are in a must-win situation after securing their only victory of the campaign against Rwanda last Friday.
