Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has suspended three commissioners for being absent without permission during a State Executive Council meeting.

The suspended commissioners are Solomon Azi (Grants and Donor Agencies), Victor Chukwu (Environment), and Ikeuwa Omebe (Rural Development).

Jude Okpor, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, announced the suspension on Tuesday, explaining that it would last for one month. He stated that the commissioners failed to request permission for their absence from the important meeting.

Governor Nwifuru issued a strong warning against absenteeism and lax attitudes among public servants, stressing the need for discipline and dedication in his administration. He also ordered that the suspended commissioners forfeit all privileges associated with their positions during the suspension period.

Furthermore, the governor directed contractors working on state government projects to speed up their work to meet contractual deadlines and standards, warning that legal action would be taken if timelines and quality were not adhered to.
