Suspended Senator for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, revealed that her husband suggested using a helicopter for her visit to her constituency. She shared this during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels TV program, on Thursday.
Recently, the Kogi state government imposed restrictions on political rallies and convoys due to security concerns. Despite this, a large crowd of supporters gathered in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, to welcome her.
While addressing the crowd, she said, “This is my home, my town. No one can stop me from coming here. I am the daughter of the late Dr. Abdul Akpoti.”
When asked about the helicopter decision, she explained, “It was my husband’s idea. With all roads leading to my house blocked, he suggested we use a helicopter instead.”
She also claimed the restrictions were specifically aimed at her since they coincided with her planned visit. “But I didn’t break any law,” she said. “The gathering was on my property, and I built the road leading to my house. No laws were broken.”
