Inter Milan booked their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after a dramatic 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich at the San Siro on Wednesday night, sealing a 4-3 aggregate win.
After a tense, goalless first half, the second leg came alive in the second period. Harry Kane opened the scoring for Bayern in the 52nd minute, converting a pass from Leon Goretzka. Inter hit back quickly, with Lautaro Martínez leveling the score just six minutes later.
Benjamin Pavard then fired Inter ahead in the 61st minute with an assist from Hakan Çalhanoğlu, reclaiming their aggregate advantage. Bayern fought back again, with Eric Dier equalizing in the 76th minute off a Serge Gnabry assist, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit.
Despite a spirited effort from the German side, Inter held on to progress 4-3 on aggregate.
The heated encounter saw yellow cards issued to Kim Min-Jae (28’), Eric Dier (45+1’), and Marko Arnautović (69’).
