An Israeli airstrike on Monday killed at least two Palestinian militants in the city of Tulkarm, according to Hamas. The group stated that the two individuals were members of its armed wing, underscoring Israel’s renewed focus on armed factions in the occupied West Bank since the ceasefire in Gaza.
The Israeli military confirmed the strike, identifying one of the militants as a Hamas leader in Tulkarm, allegedly responsible for multiple attacks against Israelis. The Palestinian health ministry confirmed two deaths, though it did not release the names of the individuals.
Meanwhile, in Jenin, Israeli troops, supported by armored vehicles, drones, and helicopters, continued a large-scale operation, which was set to enter its second week. Thick smoke was reported rising from the refugee camp near the city, a longstanding stronghold of armed militant groups.
